Dating these flats

hello everybody!
I' ve come across these flats. No idea where they're from and what age they are. Can you help me? To be honest, i' m not even sure how one could wear them...

They are Eastern European Opanke - I think northern - Baltic countries. A traditional style, so very difficult to date as they are still made.

I suspect they may have been laced slightly differently, if you left more slack in the middle you could have two crosses over the foot to hold it on.
