And keywords? Why does this horse design seem familiar? The tie has no labels. The material is very slippery - acetate? It is 4.25 inches across at its widest point and 50.5 inches long. General era?

Yes, I was thinking along the same lines as far as dating. Very late 1940s to early 1950s in the design. And the technique of the artist does seem very familiar, like Vertes for Schiaparelli or ???? Also very Dali-esque, and very cool!

I have this information in my file.

1920s: 2 3/8" to 3" wide.
1930s: 3 1/2" wide
1940s: 4" width through 1947.
1950s: varies by the decade.

Before 1940s most are unlined.

1930s" 44" long
1940s: 47" long.
1950s early 57" long
Late 1950 -60 53" - 54" long.

I hope this helps anyone. Of course there are always variations.
