The hottest part of the year here in the northern hemisphere, from early July to early August, is often described as "dog days of summer". The phrase comes from the ancient Greeks and refers to the time of year when Sirius, the "Dog Star", rises at the same time as the sun.
This week, we "Sirius-ly" celebrate our canine friends with all forms of doggie designs. Show us all types of clothing with dog-themed prints or trims--like the ubiquitous 1950s poodle skirt, for example--plus dog-shaped jewelry, and accessories like scarves and neckties.
