    Hey all,

This suit is one of those "if it fit, I would keep it!" numbers. It is just soooo nice. Made for "Imperial"..in hong kong under the british crown.

Anyways, these are not the "good" pics, as I am still working with getting the jacket to look just right on my half girl. I usually clip things that are too big for her in the back, but not all cuts work like that.

I shifted this pic to black and white...is there any real technical name for the raised criss cross grid action (does it show up)? going on here besides me coming up with a snappy analogy?

99% of the clothing from this estate was 1960s - many new looks styles, up through 60s/70s cusp and one piece of screamin' 70s. (i haven;t quite nailed this one down into a 3 yr period yet)
It is a size 14 and is definitely post 1967 as the way the size is running, in my best estimation anyhow, and fit wise i would say it is more consistent with the 70s, but not as large as a modern 14 or an 80s 14, but again i am just going by how the jacket fit me when i slid it on. will have to do some measures to really compare for sure.

The skirt is a bit low slung as my half girl's waist and hips are not wide enough to hold it in place. there are no shoulder pads.

This has a lot of timeless elements to it that a classy gal could wear it to work today. I am debating whether to save it for the "IT Suits You" VTA or just to get rid of it (as i am trying to get rid of as MUCH as i can before the end of the month and want to start fresh in June)

Thanks in advance for any comments.

    Chris

You know that might be late 50s with that 3/4 arc sleeve and that particular type of high waist with long tunic jacket.

The details show up amazingly better in black and white. Good trick

prob is that since my half girl is tiny, it is hard to really show it.

Arc sleeves - thanks for the term...i was focusing on the cgrid detail that i wasn't paying attention to that. couldn't get a good "shoulder to cuff measure", but underarm to edge of cuff is 12" so would not be 3/4 length on most i would imagine??? but then again i'm really short, so probably would be : ) Yes, the jacket is quite long, but am not sure of it really has a "waist", as i think it was created by me bunching around the tiny half girl.

when i lay it flat on the carpet it there is really not the same "waist" element. I am waiting for a pic i just snapped to upload....you will see what i mean and why i was perplexed.

it could just be earlier than i thought it was...but i will show you this clearer pic....

so just popping it in the 47-64 category would be safe?

I see - it's boxier cut than I realized. In that case, late 50s, early 60s, so 47 - 64 would be safe.

Now that I see it flat, it's looks like a raglan sleeve!

isn't that weird???? The arm seam is practically at the collar...so shoulder seam to shoulder seam measure is not going to be an accurate idea of how it might fit. I will just have to make a guesstimate.
