My mother told me this was my grandmother’s so I know it has to be most likely 1970s or earlier. My memory says it was her honeymoon lingerie but my logic brain says it doesn’t look like something for a honeymoon, nor does it look like it is from the late 1940s. Any help would be appreciated very much. And if there is a way for me to be able to find the date of things like this from the information on the tag below, I would love to be able to do the detective work on my own as I love vintage clothing and just inherited literally 6 walk in closets with clothes from the 60s to present and most of it is old and I would like to be able to know, as a sort of fashionancestry.com, when who wore/bought what as both my mother and grandmother wore miniskirts and heels and cocktail dresses into their 70s. (Btw my mom is still alive, she just moved and gave me a huge storage unit piled with her closets. I would ask her but she can’t be arsed as she it is tax season and she is a cpa and otherwise is busy busy busy and would not have given me the clothing if she thought i would bother her about it. She’s quirky. Excuse the digression.)
On a somewhat unrelated note, I know there is just a pic of the mini housecoat (or what would it be called?) below but the babydoll is even more wrinkled if you can believe it. I rarely use an iron unless I’m working with heavy fabric but I’m scared to even steam this, nylon or no. Any recommendations on how to clean and “press” it? Again, thanks.
