I received this too late to list in the run up to the holidays, but it's such a wonderfully festive look - I had to list it now anyway. Happy Christmas everyone angelic emoti!

1960s Wrap dress pattern Burda 22958 plus size B43

Interesting tidbit... there has just been a biopic about Aenne Burda, founder of Burda magazine, on German TV. The costuming made me want to throw things at the TV sometimes , but Aenne certainly was an interesting character and she probably wasn't the type you'd expect to be the founder of a sewing magazine! She was well off, didn't need to work and didn't actually like sewing herself, but in 1949 she thought that what women must want to have nice clothes again - and to be able to make them themselves if they didn't have the money to buy them - with easily understandable and well-fitting patterns. Her husband owned a printing business, but she got her own publishing business going for the magazine that she owned herself (after some fighting for it and discovering her husband had another woman on the side). As for the well-fitting patterns... she had the local women come into her company offices and had them measured from head to toe in order to establish a realistic sizing system.
