Interesting article, although I think the author may be over-anylizing a tad... Social conventions account for a lot of what she is remarking on. My mom lived in pants and shirts when she was at home, but until the very end of the 1960s, she would change into a dress to go out shopping or visiting - just like Samantha. I always thought the whole point of Samantha's wardrobe was for her to appear as 'normal' as possible since the whole premise of the show was how she constantly tried to avoid using her witchcraft, but something would always stir the pot.
