This week, the members of the VFG pay homage to a woman whose fashion was futuristic all while she tilted a fabulous hat and wore lipstick like a vintage maven. Isabella Blow (1958-2007) was a fashion editor, but even more, a fashion icon. She lived and breathed her gloriously singular vision of style and beauty. Blow had an eye for talent, discovering the models Stella Tennant and Sophie Dahl; collaborating with major photographers such as Steven Meisel, David LaChapelle, and Sean Ellis; and launching the careers of designers Philip Treacy, Hussein Chalayan, Julien Macdonald, and above all, Alexander McQueen. We are celebrating Isabella Blow's style in vintage with bright colors, feathers and sequins galore, gothic grandeur, surrealism, towering heels, unusual silhouettes, and above all, our most sensational hats—Anything and everything with a triumphant sense of daring.
