Get the Look: The Long Hot Summer

Based on several of William Faulkner's short stories and set in a fictional Mississippi town, this steamy 1958 Hollywood film about small town family drama features Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward in their first film together (as well as Lee Remick, Angela Lansbury and Orson Welles!)
Think circa 1950s cotton and linen day dresses, sundresses, separates and demure white gloves; men’s summer weight suits, and straw hats for both the gentlemen and the ladies. Southern-inspired, vintage summer charm!

PS I KNOW what a long, hot summer feels like already this year in Spokane. Weeks have been 95+º and we are becoming masters of cooling the house with ceiling fans, opening and shutting windows, drinking ice water, etc. (no A/C) It's hard to photograph clothing when you are likely to sweat...
