Happy birthday Marilyn!

Today is Marilyn Monroe's birthday - we don't need to worry about how old she would be because she'll always be gorgeous and glamourous, a wonderful style icon of the 1950s.

I was just looking at the Marilyn picture book I have and thinking of posting some here. It has loads of film costume test shots, which are wonderful for fashion, but I'll save those for another day. Here's a few more early ones, pre-blonde and newly blonde, her 1942 wedding day, then 3 from 1946, the last one an early studio shot. (sorry for less than perfect reproduction)

Thanks for the link Maggie: some beautiful shots there. It's hard to believe that Life didn't dig them out and use them after she became famous.

She was exquisite ~ I recently saw her in Niagara on TCM for the first time.

She was luminous on the screen.
