That's a beautiful hand knit, very skilled work. The pattern is usually called Staghorn Cable, and I've also seen it called Horn Cable or Antler Cable. This name makes more sense when the 'V' shape is other way up so it looks like a the two horns of a stag. When upside down like this it is sometimes called Reverse Staghorn Cable.
Thick cabled sweaters, especially in cream, are often called Aran - you should definitely include that as a keyword. The classic Aran sweater usually uses several different cable techniques, rather than just one. Yours is a more modern take on an Aran cardigan.
The button band and collar are in garter stitch, and the hem and cuffs are either cable rib or twisted rib, I can't quite see.
Classic hand knits are very to date, and it could be from almost any era, or very recent. It looks to be in very good condition, so probably newer than older, unless it's been very little worn. The use of garter stitch leans me towards thinking it more recent as well - it's slightly less traditional. But it could still be older - it's almost impossible to tell.
I wish it were mine!
