Hello!

I inherited this outfit and need some help dating it, please! Is it 1930s? 80s? Lol I have a hard time with knits/crochet. The poor sleeves have stretched out so long- whoops! Thanks!

They are hard to date and I'm not sure either.

however, the main white part of the skirt looks knit, probably machine knit, not crocheted. The openwork yoke part of the top is crocheted. I'm not sure about the lilac trim on the skirt, that could be knitted too, but I'd need a closer close-up. Similarly, the sleeves and main part of the top, could be knitted, and a much closer close up would help to confirm.

If you can tell the fibre, that will help date. If it's acrylic, it won't be 1930s.

Here's a detail shot of the skirt hem. The yarn is definitely not wool- feels like acrylic or viscose? Thanks for your help!

Great, thank you all so much. Based on your feedback and the condition, I'd guess it's early 80s. The way it's so stretched out it doesn't feel much later than that to me, but hard to tell.

Thanks again!
