Hi there--I found this t-shirt with a silhouette of Alfred Hitchcock on the front and the text "The 39 Steps" (Hitchcock film, 1935) on the back. The brand is "Hanes." Vintage t-shirts are outside of my area of expertise, and I am wondering if someone who is familiar with Hanes over the years could help me date it. I haven't been able to figure it out based on other online vintage Hanes forums. Photos included. Thank you in advance! m_5e65992a969d1fe72939a06d (1).jpg m_5e65992e969d1f982039a089 (1).jpg m_5e6599348557af1bc5f371df (1).jpg m_5e659939fe19c7cc8b1c9ca6 (1).jpg

Double tag, made in Honduras… My guess would be no earlier than 1990s. But wait for others to chime in because I am no expert.

A few more minutes googling and I came across the 2005 play, which ran until 2015 in the UK and 2007-2016 in the US, and had a similar logo to what is on your shirt. It’s quite possible that your shirt was either sold at the play or produced for cast and/or stage hands.

I think this is contemporary or within the last 10 years.
Can we see a photo of the bottom hem? It looks like double stitched but I just want to be sure

Good sleuthing Donna. I agree: likely production merch since 2005.
