Hi there--I found this t-shirt with a silhouette of Alfred Hitchcock on the front and the text "The 39 Steps" (Hitchcock film, 1935) on the back. The brand is "Hanes." Vintage t-shirts are outside of my area of expertise, and I am wondering if someone who is familiar with Hanes over the years could help me date it. I haven't been able to figure it out based on other online vintage Hanes forums. Photos included. Thank you in advance!
Double tag, made in Honduras… My guess would be no earlier than 1990s. But wait for others to chime in because I am no expert.
A few more minutes googling and I came across the 2005 play, which ran until 2015 in the UK and 2007-2016 in the US, and had a similar logo to what is on your shirt. It’s quite possible that your shirt was either sold at the play or produced for cast and/or stage hands. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_39_Steps_(play)
I think this is contemporary or within the last 10 years. Can we see a photo of the bottom hem? It looks like double stitched but I just want to be sure
