Help dating - not seen anything like this before!

Hi all

I hope you can help! I’ve been given a few pieces from the costume department of a local am dram society to sell and wanted
some views on the outfit below.

As you can see from the photos below it’s a particularly bright orange lurex tunic answer trouser ensemble in semi sheer fabric. The construction (particularly of the top of the trousers is fairly basic.

The composition label has been removed so all that is left is the sizing and a paper label (Morrish W1) which I believe based on previous discussions is likely to be the company that made the label.

The style, sizing (labelled 14 wears as 10) and the font on the paper label support it being vintage, but I suppose I’m struggling with how ‘jazzy’ (a term my mum uses!) it is as to whether it’s authentic vintage?!’

Any thoughts - have people seen outfits like this before and what sort of date would you place it?

thank you so much for your input - the only bit that is causing me slight doubt is the size label. Has anyone seen anything similar on a late 60s / early 70s piece?

I see early 70s, 72/73, I think the trouser waist has been altered or badly repaired, paper label looks right for time.
