Help Dating Unique Striped Linen Pants

Hi - I have some pretty cool striped linen pants with tapered hems.
The pants have double eye/hook closures at each side - the buttons are for accent only and non functional.
They have side 'wings' or pockets although when you push them in, there's really not a functional pocket.
Each striped was stitched on by hand and is not a part of the fabric pattern.
I am not sure how to date these - any help would be greatly appreciated.

They look like 1980s baggy pants to me but do wait for other opinions. Very cool!
