Help: I want to date/brand a pair of boots from a vintage market.

The only tag on these boots said VT6 leather and the only markings are pictured here inside the boots.

I had thought they looked very similar to Frye but frye boots aren't made in Canada!

I agree, Frye boots have not been made in Canada.

I also thought of Frye, and 1970's. The style is often referred to as Campus boots. Maybe Google that term along with "made in Canada".

I suspect they are Frye knock-offs made in Canada for the Canadian market. 'Brands' became far more proprietary starting in the 80s - knock-offs were an expected part of the business until the 80s - even the 90s really.
