Help identify fur and possibly age

Found this cleaning out my grandmother attic. There is two small buttons to shorten the length .thank you in advance

 

I'm no expert but that looks like a mink

It looks like it dates to the 50s however it's a bit difficult for me to tell the fur type because it is quite wrinkled. Hopefully if you leave it hanging for a bit some of those wrinkles will subside.
