Help identifying two furs?

Hi all,

I love fur but have the hardest time identifying it. Delving into learning more. Any information you can give about these two pieces and what characteristics led to your answers would be much appreciated!

Bullocks-Wilshire. She's 1940's right? Shorter fur, very very soft.
Schumacher. 1950s. Glossy with a plush undercoat.

Beautiful! Top is 40s and Russian squirrel. Bottom is 50s and is Muskrat.

Never would have guessed either - especially squirrel. Who knew squirrels were that soft?!
