I got this bag as a birthday gift and I'm on a mission to identify it. I looked up the maker, Franklin Simon, and found it was a department store originating in New York, opening in 1902 and closing in 1979. I also found different tags from different decades that were used on their clothing and it looks like the style of the tag on this purse is the same as the tag on the clothing items they made in the 1960s so that is when I'm assuming it was manufactured. From there, I can't find anything. I tried looking for archived catalogs but the only two I can find are from the 1910s and 1920s. Does anyone know where I can go from here / how I can find the original information about this purse? Thank you!
