Help please dating two day caps? found in trunk

I have these two caps that are from a family trunk and am interested in learning more about them. Both seem quite stiff as if they we starched and pressed. There is a seat at top which makes them look quite rectangular. I don't know if you call the earflaps lappets? There are ties that if tied would hit just at the chin.
