Hi. My other half found this dress in one of charity shops. She bought it for our daughter but is to small for her. I am thinking of selling it, looks quite old. Tag from charity shop has say its size 6. It has no tags anywhere. Any help whith describing it and telling me how old it can be. Big thank you in advance for any kind of help

Yes, I would agree that it is a charming little costume—possibly made in the 70s. Does it have a zipper?

Yes, the zipper itself and what it's made of can help date an item. The zipper in your dress is plastic coil, not metal, and this type of zipper started to appear in the early 60s, but it was in fairly full force by the 70s. The fabric and lace also look to be 1970s to 80s. No label I assume?

It's very sweet.

Agree with late 70s or 80s. In adult fashion, white petticoats showing beneath a skirt hem were a thing, and I expect that happened in children's fashion too.

I'd describe it as vintage romantic puff sleeve floral party dress with full skirt and petticoat and bloomers. I might throw in 'Victorian style'

Your best bet for pricing is probably to see how similar things have sold on eBay.

I don't think it's a necessarily a costume (as in for a play or a fancy dress party). I think it's a special occasion dress, eg for a wedding or special party.

Along these lines, but with even more ruffles and added bloomers.
