Hi all! No real knowledge on shoes but found these in a thrift store today. Major 40s/early 50's walking shoe vibes. Hard to make out the brand because it's rubbed off after all these years, although there is a faint font (hard to capture in a photo). I'm in Norway hence the European sizing. Thoughts? Thanks :)

Those are adorable! Like you, I get a 40s vibe, with that high vamp.

They could really be anywhere from about 1944 to 1954, but I suspect just postwar 1946-49 because firstly, black suede was hugely popular postwar, but also the thick sole imitating a platform and the high cut throat. If it was earlier, the throat would be cut lower, if later, the sole would be thinner. On second look, I see a number on the waist of the sole that says 37? So they are European made.

Were shoe sizes marked on the sole that early though?

Yes, I have seen European shoes with sizes marked on the soles from the late 1920s - I think Bally starts marking their shoes that early - in fact I wouldn't be surprised if these are Bally shoes.
