Help with details on a fur coat

I know next to nothing about fur coats. Before I try listing it anywhere I would like to have my details as accurate as possible. I saw a website that maybe buys or consigns, but accepts nothing over 30 years old. I can also try eBay. I’ve seen some lovely coats on and think this one is nice too but I could be all wrong and it’s next to worthless. It’s made in Great Britain. That would be accurate as the relative who owned it lived there and it matches the label. There’s no size tag or other info. Is it mink? Female mink? Any clue when it was made? If it’s full length female mink, it should have some value and be worth listing versus just donating? Also, these coats are so hard to photograph nicely! Thanks so much for any help.

Hi there, It's beautiful, sheen, and is indeed mink. I'd date it to the 80s. In order to determine with certainty whether the mink is male or female one would have to examine the pelts from the hind side.
There's some fur wear along the edges and points of the collar, and the impressions within areas of the fur show that the coat was not stored properly.
Be sure to feel for any separations, check the lining, look for any stains or other damage along the edges of the fur and the hem of both the lining and the fur. Mention any features as well as all flaws.
How much it will sell for is unpredictable, however by providing as many details as possible, it will allow viewers to determine whether they really want it, and whatever amount you sell this for will ensure a happy buyer.
