Help with Fur Appraisal

Hello,

I'm glad to see this forum! I just inherited this fur coat from my aunt. Do any of you know what type of fur it is and any other details that would help me get an accurate appraisal?

Thank you!
Christine

Bumping this for you. We do have a member who is a fur expert, Caryn @furwise . She should be able to help with fur type.

You are probably aware that we are unable to do appraisals or authentications. One of the biggest factors for fur value is condition - most owners don't have access to ideal temperature and humidity conditions.

The pictures aren’t very clear, so it’s hard to see the fur… maybe you could post some clear close-ups? But I will say it’s my observation that furs these days are a bit of a hard sell.

Thank you, I will contact her. Yes, I understood later that I should have phrased my message differently.

Hi there, I am so sorry for my delayed reply. Pretty coat. The color is pastel brown and the fur type is mink.
I think with better resolution others who have responded may have said mink also.
As for value, furs have lost a lot of value with the biggest benefit to buying furs that we may offer is that they are vintage, no animals are harmed today, the garments from the past can still be preserved in consideration of the animals, and people can stay warm while feeling like they look good at the same time.
The value for this coat will be based on how much viewers like the style as opposed to value of the fur.
