I have this swimsuit which according to the union label should be 60s-70s, however the brand has only been in existence since the 90s! The union label also has care instructions and materials in english, french and spanish. The brand is Longitude which was formally Robby Len and the RN number is associated with Robby Len. Could it be a Robby Len swimsuit with a new Longitude label sewn in? It just doesn't make sense to me. I've seen other "vintage" Longtitude swimsuits being sold on ebay and etsy, but people are calling them 70s or 80s, but that also wouldn't work with the union label. What's your opinion? These kind of puzzles drive me nuts! :puzzled:

That Longitude label has been sewn in at construction, and the inside of your swimming costume looks like a 90's costume to me. There was a conversation a little while ago about multilingual labels being an indication of later dating and your union label appears to be black, not blue and one we do not have in the resource, I think it is later than any we have there, the union label was used up until 1995 so this looks like a pretty late one.

I agree with Melanie with a '90s date. If you display it on a model or mannequin the style will be clearer, but the leg looks quite high cut: this style was popular in the '80s and going into the early '90s.

I wouldn't pay much attention to datings on ebay and etsy: both market places are full of enthusiastic amateurs who mean well, but don't have strong appraisal knowledge.

I was beginning to wonder if they had "faked" a union label for their swimsuits or sewn a label over an older union label. I've never seen a 90s union label before so had no clue that might have been it!
