Help with Trenchcoat / Aquascutum Aqua 5

Hello everyone!

I have absolutely no knowledge of clothing and fashion, which is why I ended up here with the specialists.
I bought this trench coat last year at Camden Market in London.
There were hundreds of these coats there, but this one was special.
I've already searched online and haven't found a second one like mine.
I couldn’t find any with the warm removable lining.
Nor could I find any with the strap to fasten it around the neck.
I’ve photographed all the labels, that’s all there is.

I would really appreciate some insight on when the coat could be from. Just knowing the decade would be enough for me. A more detailed description would be amazing.

Thank you so much and have a great evening!

Nice trench coat! I see we have another Made in Canada Aquascutum coat in our Label Resource from an 80s coat, but the label is slightly different. Trench coats are so classic they can be difficult to date, for me at least. I did find another "Aqua 5" coat online with a clearer label explaining that is was processed with Aqua 5, exclusive to Aquascutuum for durable water and stain repellency". Your Aqua 5 tag may say something similar, but it's so faded, I wasn't sure.

The "strap to fasten it around the neck" is called a throat latch BTW!

So bumping this for you to see if others have some thought about dating.

Thank you for the information!
throat latch... that´s how you call it in english :).

Nice find!

I would have bought that trench too: it's a really nice one.

I looked up the CA number and it comes back to Aquascutum, registered in 1997 but my understanding that CAs with that date are usually earlier.

My first thought on the labels was '70s-80s. I'm sure that a closer look at the garment would help narrow it down. If you do get a good date, I'm sure it would be nice to add the label to the resource as it's a new one.
