I can't identify the style of this hat...

Hi friends,
I'm cross-eyed by looking at hats trying to find something similar. It seems to be a cross between a tricorn/clerical/deer stalker (all men's hat names I found). I would appreciate knowing exactly what to call it! And, as usual, I'll express my thanks in the form of a donation.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Trish, this looks very much to me like a newer vintage (90s?) or even contemporary custom made hat and as such may well defy classification. The base denim? trilby style hat reminds me very much of one I bought around 2004. Although the sides of the brim have been drawn up with the ribbon it still retains most of the traditional characteristics of a trilby. I'm not sure but I think I can recall this modified style from some victorian ladies riding outfits. Maybe it was a steampunk creation?
I must say the flowers on it are lovely and I've never seen that ribbon curling technique before.

Hi Melanie,
Thanks for your response. The fabric is a semi-floppy upholstery material. I think you may be right now that I look at it with a newer date in mind. Looking closer, the back of the leaves have plastic ribs, not wire, and the stems are covered in florist's stem tape. There is also 1/8th inch satin ribbon used for the center of the flowers. The flowers have been hand stitched together at the base. The hat's crown has been machine sewed.

I also thought of a riding hat--and it is very steampunk.
Thanks again. I'm off to make a donation!
