There was a fashion show at El Paseo Village this weekend, and I was thrilled to meet Tim Gunn!
The show featured looks from Kate Spade, Lucky Brands, and Juicy Couture, three of the newest stores on the street, of the Liz Claiborne group.

Michael C., contestant on this season's Project Runway, was the special surprise guest. It was a lot of fun, and I was able to have my picture taken with Tim. He also signed my copy of his latest book, "Gunn's Golden Rules".


 
Tim Gunn will be in Honolulu this weekend. Sounds like a similar format with a fashion show at 1:00 at Ala Moana Shopping Center Center Stage - HUGE shopping center. They are having a cocktail party afterwards, which is billed as a chance to meet Tim Gunn. You are "invited" if you have $150 in receipts - I think they have to be from that day - from one of the lines shown in the fashion show. (Kate Spade, Juicy Couture and Lucky Brands.)

I don't think I am going to go - not much chance of sitting in the second row or getting a seat at all. Good view of the stage from above but I think it will be a "zoo."

I am reading Tim Gunn's first book, "A Guide to Quality, Taste and Style" - it is excellent. I bought it and his new one on amazon. (There was an article about him in a magazine that I read when I was in SF last month.) Very well written and a fun read.
