What constitutes a <B>Cuban Heel</B>?

I know it's the shape & style, but what about the height? Are there numerous heights that are all considered <B>Cuban</B>?

I have these great shoes...I thought I may list them, but they don't seem to be doing that great on eBay. figures...
I'll post some pics later.

I don't think the height would be too tall.
 
There's no specific height that I know of. It's generally just based on that slanted (tapered) shape in back you see when you look at the profile. Now that I think about it you really couldn't go very high with the heel because of way it tapers...it would probably snap!!!! You can see great examples of the cuban heel if you look at some western cowboy boots...those are the shoes that the Cban heel if most often associated with. ...hope I'm not rambling...lol :-)

(someday I'll figure out how to add those great little yellow smiley faces!)
 
...and the Beatles in the early days wore Cuban-heeled boots...They were then dubbed Beatle Boots.

So - I tried on the shoes again & I can't bear to part with them just yet... LOL

I will take a pic of the heels later, tho, just to satisfy "our" curiosity.

What a cute shoe!!!! and that's a cubanheel alright!!! (I guess I always associate them with boots!) ...I still have aways to go on that learning curve! :o What a great place to learn! :bisou:
 
Thanks queenie - They are rather Pin Up-ish, aren't they?
I'll keep that in mind if I ever decide to part with them.

Right now, I'm so low on personal clothing that I don't wanna give them up.

I may not be able to get into any of my clothes, but I can still wear my shoes!!! LOL

I've gone from a size 6 to a size 10 in like 2 months. ouch!
