Amanda even I wore a swimcap for school lessons in the 90s (my hair wouldn't dry for hours otherwise), but they were different beasts then - the favourite of the day was a multicoloured marbled effect, probably a Speedo design I think.
I had several fabulous ones in the past but they dried up and turned hard. Still have a few but I keep them in a tupperware box in the basement where its cool and dark.
Some of us still wore bathing caps too in school, ca. late 80s. Got very uncool though when we were a bit older . Ours were just simple rubber caps in one colour - no decoration. Love these vintage ones with their pretty decorations!
I wore them a lot at my primary school swimming club, I remember some of them being amazing and textured like coral, but I am sure back then I would have hated wearing them!
Vintage swim caps, especially if decorated, always are such good sellers!
This pretty one ended up in Paris for a photo shoot. Among a certain set they are now considered fashionable and interesting again, not just functional.
Amanda, I can't tell which model you think looks like me, but thank you, I love all their smiles!
