Thank you.I would refer to it as a floral vine pattern. I'm not aware of a more formal name.
Never heard of that term, thank you.I've seen some prints like this referred to as "ditsy." Or "scrolling floral."
That's how I view them as, thank you.I also have used or seen "floral sprigs".
Thank you.meandering vine?
Hi, that's interesting, as I first thought of the pattern as something seen on antique English flow blue china and pottery. And it is! I thought it reminded me of the "sprig" designs which is actually a term for a pottery/china pattern style.I'm still delving and discovering things stored I didn't know I had.
The image is not cloth but a section of a large ceramic, wall hung meat charger I am trying to identify.
But the design is so-so similar to a dress I found last year, I think 1910-1920, it's very heavy on the eyes to look at.
From memory it's in poor condition, not worth saving but I'm curious about the design which might help me identify the Charger.
Yes you were, I'm guessing the dress, the pattern is so similar is English which surprises me as I have never seen a dress with such a pattern, must find a photo.Hi, that's interesting, as I first thought of the pattern as something seen on antique English flow blue china and pottery.
