is this burgundy velvet bow hat 30-50s?

I generally freeze everything for about 2 weeks.

And, to even out the moth nibbles, I bursh up the low spots with a soft toothbrush (out of service, of course--LOL!), then pick with a pin or needle point at the low spots to perk them up, as LizaJane mentions. But I also, if the nibbles are particularly deep, take a very sharp cuticle scissors and trim from the normal nap down to the low area--if the nap is long enough. That sort of graduates the high nap down to the low area so that the difference isn't as acute. On a long-napped felt, it's usually impossible to perk up/pick up enough fiber to make it as high as the surrounding area. But it does work pretty well on a short-napped felt.
