Is this hat original from the 1950s or was it created at a much later time and if so, what decade would that be? Could it possibly be an 80/90s hat?

The shape of the brim, grosgrain ribbon, comb, and elastic suggest 1950s to me. The handstitched name inside was likely added by Katherine herself: perhaps she added the feathers, as well.

It is very pretty. I agree that the label does not look 50s but could have been added later. I am getting a bit of a Church Hat vibe, but it's a hard call. It looks like the material used is the same for the outer crown, band, and both sides of the brim? If yes, it would be some sort of fabric. Like a velour or velvet? And how are the brim edges finished?

I couldn't figure out what was going on with the main material. If it's flocked, I would learn towards later, as well.

It's an original 1950's hat. The outer covering material was referred by several names, its a panne' finished velvet sometimes called seal cloth by milliners. It was hugely popular for hats in the mid 1950's and came in lovely colors. Love the feathers!
