    Hello All,

I have a conundrum. I found this gold DSCN9545.jpeg late 50's early 60's jacket. I know this due to the union label, found that info on VFG. I believe it's Lame, what do you think?

    Thanks much,
    Joanne

Wow, Joanne, could we see the jacket? It looks like it's made entirely of gold lamé threads (in a herringbone twill), but that would be very unusual!

    Hello,

Yes indeed, as soon as the sun shines tomorrow I will photograph it. It is very beautiful, I'm thinking that it might have been part of a dress. But what do I know, you are the experts! Thank you for getting back to me Denise.

    Cheers,
    Joanne

I am looking forward to seeing the jacket. It sounds wonderful.

From the photos, it looks to be Lurex, and not lame'. I do agree with Denise in that it is quite unusual for either fiber.

    Hi,

The sun came out today! So, I took photos of the jacket. Let me know what you think pleas?

    Sincerely,

  7. Stunning! Agree with early ‘60s as a date. I haven’t see one that was all metallic like this.

WOW!!! that is stunning, a woven (straw-like) metallic lamé, most interesting!
I am sure it would have had a matching sheath dress.

    Hi MaryJane,

I believe you are right about the dress. The jacket is amazing though! Thank you for your feedback.

That jacket will sure turn heads, I can see it paired with some silk capri pants!

When I find them I have a short sleeved wiggle dress made of similar fabric, and skirt decorated with ribbon made like this as well. Both the same era as above and very fitted.

    Hi Melanie,

If you get a chance, can you send a picture? I would love to see them.

    Cheers,

    Hi Nicole,

I never have either. But when I found it at the thrift shop, I searched high and low for it's partner in crime! ;)

    Cheers,
    Joanne

Still think it is Lurex and not a true lame' thread. Some might use the 2 terms interchangeably, but they are not the same.

    It is a super jacket.

I agree with Barbara that it is Lurex; not lamé.
