It\'s Very 80s in here Part II - Calling Morticia Addams!

Here is the 2nd in the dynamic 80s duo of dresses. This one I really enjoyed photographing as crazy as it is. The third pic is not so great, but the rest i think really show the dress

My husband commented that he thinks Morticia Addams would love this one if she is in the mood to show off a bit more leg than her usual dresses :)

So...how do I market this....glam? goth? casket interior chic? lol. Not at all?

wa-ho! I'd say more glam than goth. A little Goldfrapp, perchance?

That front decorative feature makes me think 'peacock deco'.

I think some fans of 80s glam will like this...

I was thinking goth in the sense that someone may also think this looks like the draping inside a casket LOL/

Maybe:

"80s Glam! Black Ruched Sequins Cocoon dress?"
"Glove Tight 80s Glam Ruched...???
 
Far be it from me to contradict Lin, who's forgotton more about Goth than I'll ever know, but this dress falls within the parameters of what's being touted as one of the big Fall trends - Goth - so I'd certainly use the term in my title to bring it to the widest possible audience.

sure looks like a Climax dress, doesn't it?

I had one VERY similar to this awhile back. It sold from my website for a nice sum.
Mine had more of a sweetheart neckline with rhinestone clips to hold it back at the sides, and also holding a small swag at the hips.

Mine reminded me a casket interior, too! LOL!

No it is not a Climax. Surprisingly enough...and I was surprised to see the label...its "a Vanna White Original." I bought it just thinking it was dramatic looking enough someone would want it for a party.

Thanks for the compliments. The lighting has been unpredictable and dismal here because of that hurricane's outer bands.

I have a halogen lamp that has an arm on it. its the kind that has a "hinge" like the type that are a reading lamp that can sort of hang over when you are in a chair. The shape looks like a flying saucer. I tilted it up and put it about 4 feet from her at an angle. the other light is just the old light that is in the ceiling fan that is general lighting for the room. I have a semi vaulted ceiling in my office so it is diffused because its a lot higher up in the ceiling. Then i have some natural window light, but it didn't play here, because of the overcast dismal weather

I have never heard of GoldFrapp...but i guess i should start looking for big shouldered 80s dresses lol I am assuming this gal didn't suffer through the 80s proms from hell the first time around. hee hee.

There was a bright royal blue almost twin to this dress, but i chose this one over that one because i thought it was cooler. I might be able to go back and get it, but i think this one is the better of the two as far as the look goes.
 
OK, two questions....
What is Goldfrapp (band?)
Is goth seriously coming back?? I knew about the Victorian stuff, so are we talking glam goth or black lipstick, red hair and wallet chains goth?

that "victorian manor"/taxidermy on the mantel/gothic Mary Shelley/Johnny Depp in that Jack the Ripper Movie/3 button blazer look was coming in...not the goth with chains thing...at least what I have been seeing.
