Jaeger coat with hood

Just bought this coat - does anyone have a guess as to when it was made? It is oversized, has a hood and labelled 'all wool' with tricel lining. The pockets are vertical. Thanks for any input!

That length with a hood in navy blue... maybe early 70s? If it was newer I would expect it to be either longer or shorter, and hoods pretty much disappeared by the early 80s.

I can't think of an example of a hood on a dressy coat from the 80s or 90s - they move over to sweatshirts and sportswear...

Your label is closest to a '60s one in the label resource and I concur with Jonathan: hoods are not commonly seen on dressier coats.

The other labels (not shown) can also help you date: size, measurements, fabric, care, country of origin. You mention 'tricel' which is a synthetic fibre developed in the '50s.

On the available information I would date between mid '60s to mid '70s.
