Hey guys, picked up a John stephens shirt today you may or may not know hes very well respected, I’ve tried to find the same label but to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The labels I’ve seen say “John stephen of Carnaby street”
Mine says “John Stephen of London”

Hi and welcome to the forums!
We have some information about John Stephen in our label resource: https://vintagefashionguild.org/label-resource/stephen-john/

Your shirt looks like it has an interesting print - can you please post a photo of the entire garment?

Hmm, the print definitely screams 70s but I think I see a tag with a bar code in the corner of your photo. Though bar codes were first used in 1974, I think it was mostly in grocery stores and weren’t common for other retail at least until the 80s. Can you show a photo of that paper tag?

I wonder if the barcode hang tag is from a thrift store rather than original to the shirt.

It would be good to know about and see any care labels to confirm date.

The Art Nouveau revival print does scream 70s though!
