Maybe not quite what you thought I meant, but a first label Laura Ashley that I think I love.

Sorry about half steamed pictures, I realised it needs a quick wash so I didn't do it all properly and these are very preliminary 'had to share' snaps!

I am trying to reduce my stock but I couldn't leave it behind..

:saint:

Late 60s/very early 70s? I need to buy/read the Laura Ashley book (note to self!)

I see a Virginia Slims ad, with piled up Edwardian hair and loose tendrils hanging down the temples, LOTS of eyelash, pink lips and a cigarette...

ohhhhh....I think I found my Halloween costume...... what size it???:wub:

That is a very awesome dress.......

I don't think I'd dare wear white on the grass - knowing me I'd come home looking like I'd been playing football in it! I'd love to picnic in elegant outfits but sad to say I'm probably safest in dungarees..

Best. Laura Ashley. Ever.

:D

It reminds me of a film clip I saw a while back of some gals walking through London in full Laura Ashley get-up, including bustled skirts like that and carrying parasols. Before that, I never quite believed my mum when she remembered the fashion for actually looking like a milkmaid, girls would actually wear bonnets and mob caps and my mum even had a wicker basket instead of a handbag which she would take into work. Apparently a lot of girls did that.
