L'Aiglon dresses

The red color just about beat me, but here's another one...

Cat, I think your dress is the earliest one up here now, and that label looks like the oldest one I have ever seen. I bet it isn't much changed from what they were using in the 1930s.
 
I've looked and looked, and still haven't found when this firm was established. I do know that it dates at least to the early 20s, because someone posted an ad on VC&A some time ago.

I have enough information to add this one to the resource, but everyone please keep in mind that we can always use more!

L'Aiglon had been formed by the early 1920s in Philadelphia as part of Biberman Brothers, Inc. Its founder, Joseph Biberman, committed suicide in 1933 as a result of financial difficulties during the Great Depression. The company, however, survived, and continued to make inexpensive but stylish and attractive dresses for women and juniors. During the 1950s, L'Aiglon dresses were used as costumes on the soap opera, <I>The Edge of Night</i>. The company produced dresses at least into the 1970s.
 
I just picked up one that would date to the 60s. Will post pics soon.
