Lemon yellow trench coat...VTA? + ?

Good day, all vinties....I am working on the ad for a very bright lemony yellow trench coat. (more lemon than the color shows on my monitor) One daughter says it is "preppy" and the other says "not preppy".....Which do you say? (if it is preppy, I will include it in this months's VTA...if no, I won't...lol)

I also have a question about two fabric vertical 'belts' inside the coat...one on each side. Does anyone know their purpose?

Cute coat!! Our local paper had a great big spread on trench coats today. I dunno about the preppiness - hopefully someone with more knowledge about the Prep Factor can tell you.

The inside belts tie to help the coat stay nice and flat when closed. They would tie in the front of your waist.

Thats cute I haven't been able to find one cute trench coat yet. All I keep finding are 80's with huge shoulder pads.
