Reminds me of harlequins collars (and remember those toys on elastic with arms and legs made from patchwork ruffles that everyone made in the 70s? no?)

I thought 72ish, but I shall await the opinion of others! :)

I can do better than an approximate date. Definitely 1973. :clapping:

I have that exact dress, I'd been hankering after it for ages after seeing the Vogue ad ages ago :love008: and finally got it recently. It's one of my favourites and it's in the Bath exhibition too!!

Do you know I had a weird premonition you would have this dress! Mind you, I suppose chances are high with you and Varons..

Thank you Liz, such a star! Is it OK to pinch the ad to save, and can I be as retentive as to ask what month in '73 it's from - so sad I know? (will credit you if I ever use it to sell.. but am hoarding for now!)

And now I need that hat... :D

I might have to get back to you on that, I think it's September (definitely the autumn collection - I think 1973 was one of his most prolific years) - I'm moving in a week so I've packed away all my Vogues already! Feel free to use it!!

Wow! Nothing like photographic evidence! I love it when we can match up a garment with an ad or article.

Lizzie ~ who loves the dress, btw

How did they get the dress to do that do you suppose? Just caught the model in an "action shot" swirling the dress around or an odd typa crinoline? Wires from the ceiling? No photoshop to cheat with back then.
