Long mohair sweater (dress?)

Discussion in 'PUBLIC Vintage Fashion - Ask Questions Get Answers' started by Beehive Vintage Goods, Sep 30, 2004.

  1. I really like this handknit mohair sweater. Hope the bidders do too!! It is knee length and the cowl neck is quite massive. I am listing as a sweater as I think it would be a bit bulky as a dress...what do you all think? Also am I correct to say 1970's??

Certainly reminds me of a "sweater dress" from the 70's....You mention it is too bulky to wear as a dress, well most of those ones were!! I remember having a couple in high school and talk about being "hot" and I am not talking fashion but temperature wise!!!:)

  3. I think it's a 70s dress, too--and that it looks luscious. :)

  4. I think it could be used as a dress or sweater. Some people are very cold natured and don't mind the added warmth. Me? I would totally burn up!

    I agree with 70s!

I'd promote as a sweater. Totally cute over jeans. I love stuff like this.

I actually love this! I think it'd be great as either a dress or a sweater- I can see it both ways.
Drat! that it's mohair, though :-(
Wool of any sort makes me itchy. I'm in the wrong business, huh?

  7. I agree with Justine. It would look fab over some jeans!! The sleeves are too die for. If only I looked good in cowl necks :(.

  8. Thanks for your input everyone!! Maybe I will spring for a double listing and put in both sweaters and dresses??

The top pic has it over a pair of jeans, unfortunately the pic turned out dark. Great minds think alike! :)
