Looking for a little help from my friends~*~

I bought this darling little bag to give as a Christmas gift. I ended up finding something else I wanted to give and as pretty as this one is I don't think I'll be carrying it - I'm WAY to rough on stuff and I don't think this one would survive. It's adorning my vanity table right now, but I was also thinking of listing it - I need $ more than I need another "Pretty" right now  (sniff.....)

Sooooo.... any body care to venture a date? Any other info greatly appreciated as well~

Thanks~

Looks 30s to me! (And it's just wonderful!)

Roseann Ettinger's "Handbags" has a 1932 ad from the A.C.Becken Company of Chicago which shows evening purses much like yours (in both design and colors); her caption describes them as "Beaded handbags for day or evening wear made of French seed pearls, bugle beads and accented with Beauvais embroidery".

I sold a Koret 30s fabric pochette last year that actually had an insert card referencing the Beauvais tapestries, so I think this style of embroidery was having a vogue just then!

That was my next question - what the heck is this decoration called?-

Thanks Carrie, but now I think I have to keep it because how often does a girl like me get to have""Beaded handbags for day or evening wear made of French seed pearls, bugle beads and accented with Beauvais embroidery" ? Not too very often, let me tell you!

Sorry KK ;)
