Hello, everyone! This is my first post, so I hope I’m doing this correctly.
Through my work, I frequently come across antiques and vintage fashion pieces, and I have developed a deep appreciation for them. Recently, I was gifted a beautiful belt by an elderly woman who was recently widowed. She shared that her late husband cherished the belt so much that he rarely wore it, and while it remains in pristine condition, it was too difficult for her to keep.
I am hoping to learn more about this belt—particularly the year it was made—so I can accurately assess its value. My goal is to sell this and a few other vintage items, with the intention of giving the proceeds back to her. I want to honor both her husband’s memory and his well-preserved belongings by ensuring they are sold for what they are truly worth.
Despite my research, I haven’t been able to find another belt with the exact same coloring and buckle design. I’ve found some similar styles, but none that match precisely. If anyone here can help me identify the year of production or provide any other insights that could assist in valuing the item, I would be incredibly grateful.
The belt is reversible with one side, black, and the other brown, which is similar to many other styles. However, the buckle itself is just a tad bit different in design and coloring than any others that I have seen so far.
Since I live in a very rural area with no antique shops or vintage fashion experts within a reasonable distance, I am doing my best to navigate this process with the knowledge I have. Any guidance would be sincerely appreciated—I want to do right by this wonderful woman.
