Can't believe I found this beauty for only $12 (USA) the other day! There is one tiny seam rip in the lace on the bottom, but otherwise is in amazing condition for how old it is. I haven't seen any others like it online, but I was able to date it from between 1947-1955 due to the label (Luxite by Holeproof) inside. Ivwould love some help figuring out which line it is! Also, any tips to help whiten the slip would be appreciated.

It's actually a nightgown not a slip and it's beautiful. Came with a little matching robe of the same nylon. I would give it a nice soak in something like retroclean or a mix of a little Woolite for delicates/Biz.
Thank you!! Do you know where I could find any photos of the set? Would love to see them!

It looks like your item is new-with-tag?
I believe the ivory color is its natural color, it is not meant to be white.
Love the accordion pleating at the hemline!
@NylonNostalgia has a wonderful webpage on Luxite. :)

Unfortunately no! I found it at a boutique with a small used clothing section curated by people in the area. The tag is from that. Crazy to think that back in the day, this might have sold new for that price!

As mentioned above, I have some Luxite info on my website. Unusually, it is also possible to get an approximate date by fabric colour name using the table shown at the bottom of my page. I see you still have the tag attached, so maybe it is shown on there?

Using the label text as a guide, it is 1956 at the latest.

It is a nightie, BTW :)
