Lynx hat?

I inherited this Mr. D's fur hat and I am wondering what kind of fur it is (it looks like lynx or another cat).

Hello, Sorry for my delayed reply. The fur is called civet. It is related to the cat but is not a cat.

Huh, kind of a like a weasel trying to look like a big cat :D

It does look like 2 different animals stuck together.

They are sometimes called civet cats but they are not cats. They do resemble them in part and similar to wildcats there are different species that vary a bit in appearance and have different markings. They generally have little heads in comparison to their elongated bodies though. They're certainly unique.
