    Men\'s knit button-up vest questions....

    Hi everyone,

I need some help with this men's vest - Do you think it's 50s/60's? What is the knit pattern on the front - houndstooth? Is it retro or RAB or of VLV interest at all? If not, any keywords?

    Thanks bunches,
    Karen

It's not hounsdtooth, which is a tweed. But, I think this is a seed stitch. I'm not totaly sure.

    That's my 2 cents.

looks early 60s to me... if only it were leather I could provide you with some frighteningly early pictures of the Stones wearing something just like it. And I have 60s knitting patterns like that too. Shall look through my knitting books tommorrow and see if I can get a name for the knit pattern.

    love, moons and starrs,

  4. I'm with Janine. I'm not sure what that stitch is called either. I think it's more Swing than RAB. I can see some kid in his swing dance suit and his black and white creepers wearing that vest! Oh hey!! Just like the kids in your avatar picture!!!!! :duh:

    Anyone else????

    Thanks for the help everyone....

I need to continue reading the RAB workshops. I guess I thought rockabilly & 50's swing kind of intermixed at some point.... maybe it is just me and my hubby that will swing to anything!
