Michelle Obama's outfit

Loved the outift and color, though I normally don't care for yellow, but this was a deeper golden color. The jeweled neckline is, I thought, rather Jackie-O/60's reminiscent....

Loved the shoes, but not so much with the outfit....

You go, Michelle!!! They're walking the last leg of the parade, and she's still wearing those heels. Match that with some ballroom dancing tonight, and she's going to have some sore pups tomorrow. She is officially my hero.

oh, they're holding hands...they're so cute!

The outfit is stunning and she looks great in it, but I think it's more afternoon than morning attire. But it's certainly not dull! C

It struck me as a bit too dressy for the swearing in and a bit too flimsy for walking Pennsylvania Ave as well Claire. In fact I actually liked Laura Bush's outfit better - the tailored grey was very smart, however, that gold/green on Michelle did look great.

"Horyn writes that the coat and dress are made of Swiss wool lace, backed with netting for warmth and lined in French silk.

I'm glad to hear that! Since at first glance the outfit (which I just LOVED) made me flash on a 60s brocade sheath/coat ensemble, I got shivery just looking at her...

I agree that the green gloves/shoes were a great touch, and that Aretha's hat was fab!

Somehow I don't think netting added much warmth. I assume she was wearing nice warm snuggies a la Princess Diana (one of the things I learned from David Sassoon.)

I noticed later, when they got to their destination, that the girls were in very smart outfits, too. The littlest had bright pink tights, how cute!

And Jill Biden wore spike heeled boots - whoa! she is brave.

I loved the set, loved the color and I assumed it was some kind of wool lace or lace over wool. I hink she also had a sweater on under there. The daughters - adorable.
