More shoes and another question?

Thanks so much for verifying my dating of the shoes on the other post.

The suggestions for calling them 'baby doll' shoes are what I'm curious about? What would be called a baby doll shoe?

I have 3 more pairs that I don't know if they would be described as baby doll too?

Thanks for all your help!

All of these are. WOW! 3 more fabulous pairs!

A baby doll is a high-heeled pump with curvy sides and a rounded toe, from what I understand. That dip near the arch on the side adds to the sexy-ness of the shoe.

Those "babydoll" shoes never seem to be my size, and the ones I've tried are far too narrow. I love 40's shoes and come across loads at vintage fairs but have yet to find a pair that fits..

Ahhh those are sooo gorgeous. Vintage shoes never seem to come in a size larger than an 8.. at least what I see!

You aren't kidding! Try being a size 11....I'm considering some foot binding.

I read somewhere you can foot cosmetic surgery these days, maybe get a few toes removed :)

How frustrating vintage shoes are! I take a 6 or 6 1/2, so I can find the sizing to fit, but toe injuries and recent surgery for them have made it impossible for me to wear heels higher than about 2 inches, and then only for a while till I have to take them off.... And I used to be able to take a "narrow" width on occasion, but the surgery "splayed" my toes out a bit, so now I must have a medium width. Grrrr.....

Gawd, these shoes here are makding me so depressed... I want them, they're my size, but I can't do the heels.

I have never sold a pair of heels...how exactly am I supposed to measure these?

Do you mean the whole shoe or just the heels? To measure the heel height to specify in your listing, take a rigid ruler, and measure from the floor to the seam between the heel and the shoe, at the back of the shoe, not at the front of the heel where it attaches to the sole of the shoe.

To measure the length of the shoe, I find peep-toe and other open-toe shoes easier to measure than flats. I take a cloth (or plastic-coated) tape measure and slip it into the shoe, then measure from the very tip of the toe, and, conforming the tape measure to the curve of the footbed, measure to the end of the sole. I state in my listing: X" long, measured on inside along footbed. Because you can see exactly where the tape is on the open toe, it's easier, IMO, than trying to measure a closed-toe shoe on the inside (those I generally measure on the outside).
