My new exhibition just opened at Oakville museum

Perhaps for US citizens it's different, but when we drive down to the US we are always asked for our passports - going and coming. I think the rules have tightened quite a bit in the last few years.

OH my goodness! You had me talking to myself Jonathan, pointing to the screen, ooooooooo look at that one, nooooo look at that one... not a single person in this house to answer me back! I ADORE hats and can never get myself to sell my collection but know so little about them. Pretty? I buy it, interesting? I buy it.... I was going to comment on a few I like but *ahem* there are too many that I just love...
Do you keep your collection in hat boxes piled up or do you have some special way of displaying them at home so they do not get dusty or damaged or or or....?

It's just wonderful to see all your hats - and covering such a wide range of eras!

Just got me to thinking how much I miss going to the hat section of the department store back in the old days - All the hats displayed on heads or stands and then the vanity where you could sit and try them on...

Your display looks fabulous! You have some very pretty hats. Glad I don't have to choose a favorite.

I also have a huge collection of hat boxes -- that's where they are stored. I used to have one hat per box when we had the last house with the fabulous high dry basement but our present house is smaller so I have to put more than one hat into each box now. I find its easiest to store them by period, style and colour...Hats do take up a LOT of room. This exhibition consists of only 47 hats but its enough to fill 4 large glass vitrines.

I love hats too. These are just fabulous. I have been selling alot of hats over the past few months. One can only hope they are coming back into fashion. Wouldn't that be wonderful?
